Version history: replace edited photos without losing the old ones

During editing, a photo may be retouched several times based on client feedback. Version history lets you replace photos in an album without ever losing the earlier versions.

Key takeaways

  • Upload a new edit over an old photo and clients see it right away.
  • Wedify keeps up to 10 earlier versions of each photo.
  • Restoring an old version adds it as a new version, so nothing is lost.
  • Comments and notes stay attached to the photo.

Replace a photo with a new edit

Open the photo and upload the edited version. It stays in the same place in the album, with the same name and all of the client’s comments and notes. Clients opening the album see the new version immediately.

View and restore earlier versions

Open the version history to see earlier versions with their date and size. If the client prefers an older one, restore it in one step. The restored version becomes the latest, while the current one stays in the history.

When to use it

  • Delivering edited photos in the same album used for proofing.
  • Re-editing based on feedback while keeping the previous version for comparison.
  • Recovering after replacing the wrong photo.

Summary

Version history keeps the album as the one place with the latest edits, while older versions stay safe when you need them.
